How to Setup Tier.net in Windows 98

1. On the desktop, double click on "My Computer"

2. Double click on "Control Panel"

3. Double click on "Internet Options"

4. Click on the "connection tab"

5. Click "Setup"

6. Click the third choice "I want to setup my internet connection manually", click next

7. Click "I connect through a phone line and a modem" click next

8. For the area code / phone number (enter your area code in the box below and refer to chart) put in 607xxxxxxx,click next

9. For the username put in ( your username )@xxxxxxx.net (see logon chart to the right) and for the password put in "your password" and then click next

10. For the connection name put in Tier.net, click next

11. Where it says "Do you want to set up an Internet mail account now?" click yes, click next

12. Click "Create a new internet mail account", click next

13. Where it says "Display Name" type in "your name", click next

14. Where it says "Email address", type in "your email address", click next

15. Where it says "Incoming mail server", type in "mail.tier.net", Where it say "Outgoing mail server" type in "smtp.tier.net", click next

16. Where it says "Account name" type in "your username", Where it says "Password" type in "your password", click next

17. Click finish

18. Close all windows

19. On the desktop, double click on "My Computer"

20. click on "Dial up Networking"

21. Right click on TIER

22. click on "Create shortcut"

23. Windows can only create shortcut on your desktop, click yes to this.

24. A shortcut to Tier.net icon should now appear on your desktop, to connect to the internet double click this icon.
