On April 24th the centennial celebration began with music and dancing at a ball.

On Friday August 7th J. Ralph Ingalls School was dedicated to the National Register of Historic Places. Opening Ceremonies took place later that evening at Maine Memorial School.
On Saturday August 8th a parade kicked off the celebration. The day continued with a doll and quilt show, displays of paintings and wood carvings, craft demonstrations, tours of Pitcher's Mill, Casey At Bat reenactment and lots of good food. A school reunion at J. Ralph Ingalls School brought many old frends together. The evening closed with round & square dancing at J. Ralph Ingalls School on Church St.

On Sunday August 9, 1998 a 5K & 10K run began the day. A childrens trike & bike parade and a spelling bee highlighted the children. Penny McKay was the winner of the gazebo raffle. The displays, demos and shows that took place on Saturday were continued with the exception of the doll show. A hymn sing and closing ceremonies concluded the week end.

Souviners and mementos are still available. Any profits realized from these celebrations will be used toward moving a one room school house to Maine and the refurbishing of Pitcher's Mill.
