SERVICE ORGANIZATION CHALLENGE
Nancy Graver and Alicia took
advantage of the opportunity to set up on the Avenue for the Endicott
Centennial Event. The Johnson City Elks participated in the Service
Organization Challenge. Organizations were challenged to
raise staples for the St. Ambrose Pantry! It was a great day to
inform everyone of the Elks organization and
mission. Interesting people stopped by to chat! We had the
author of the book "Shoe Town" stop
by! We heard stories from people involved in the recent
disaster. Dennis Gazda, Deb Valenta, Kim and Paul stopped by to add to the
collection of staples and canned goods! Many of you dropped off
donations at the lodge! Thank you!
I
am proud to announce that the Johnson
City Elks #2821 won the
Service Organizational challenge - 321 items will be added to St.
Ambrose's food pantry.

AUGUST ELK
OF THE MONTH
Mike
Kelley
Mike
has worked diligently behind the scenes, interacting with our landlord, construction
vendors and supporting our work crews.
He has had to make some very tough decisions regarding Project
Recovery. He also has shown great
leadership and communication skills.
Napolean
Bonaparte wrote, “A great leader deals in hope”. Thank you Mike Kelly our August Elk of
the Month, for giving us hope and providing great leadership.
Fraternally,
Alicia Beck, ER
