Dear Brothers and Sisters;
This past month saw the
reopening of our lodge. We have had
the opportunity to sit back and enjoy “fruits of our labor”.
This month is full of promise.
Mark your calendars! We have
great events planned for October!
Volunteer recognition
will be held on October 21st. If you volunteered to clean, cook, bake,
re-build, wash towels, chicken BBQ, fold newsletters, arrange an event,
this night is for you! I will host
this event and as most of you know, I love to ensure you will have a
wonderful time! I will not be asking anyone to do
anything. It’s your turn to just
come enjoy the food, fun, fellowship and awards. (Remember the Potato Man song? )
What else is on this month’s
agenda? The normal Tuesday thru
Saturday activities! This lodge
always has something going on. We
want to appeal to all our membership.
If there is something you would like to see at your lodge, please
take a moment and email me at wbeck@stny.rr.com,
I welcome new ideas.
You also will find a new
item in our lodge! A juke
box! That’s right an opportunity
to play and sing your favorite songs.
There’s country, 60’s, 70’s, rock, jazz, polkas, etc. Keep this in mind when you are choosing
your selections. This is what
certain songs say about you:
- If you
choose classical or jazz – it means you are inventive, tolerant of
others, and imaginative.
- If you
choose Rock – it means you are open to new experiences, curious
and willing to take risks.
- If you
choose Country – You are outgoing, cheerful and reliable. You enjoy helping others.
- If you
choose Funky or Soul – You are extroverted, energetic and
talkative. You are independent
and not bound by convention.
Now it’s up to you! What is my favorite music?
Email me with your answer and your name will be submitted into a
drawing to be done at the Volunteer Recognition night!
Fraternally,
Alicia Beck, ER

FELLOW
MEMBERS:
We need volunteers for cooking Friday night dinners. I
have definitely 2 teams, but if we could get more we could just have to do
once a month or maybe even less. Any one that would like to make a dinner
on a Friday night, just let me know. If you
need a team put together, we will get that for you. You decide what you
want to make and we will get the supplies for you and help if you need it. You
don't have to do this alone. We have a lot of members that are willing
to help, but are a little nervous about putting on a dinner by themselves. You can E-mail me at secarr@mail.com and.I
will get back to you asap.
Thank you for any help you can give us. The Lodge is in full
swing and we would like to make Friday night dinners a success too!
Thank You,
Sharon

ELK OF THE MONTH
This person
devoted over 240 volunteer hours to Project Recovery.
He took on the job of "Foreperson" of this amazing
recovery. He brought in every tool ever made by Craftsman and
demonstrated his construction skill set. I am so proud to present to Ron Foster, September's Elk of the Month. Thank you Ron for your willingness to do whatever
it took to get us open!

Alicia, Exalted
