Brothers and Sisters!
December! What an amazing month! It holds the promise of
Christmas and the end of another year. The Lodge is full of
"Christmas Cheer". There are several wonderful activities
to brighten our member's holidays.
Tuesday, December 12 will be our annual Christmas Party for our
"adopted" HCA Adult Home. This will be a pot luck dinner at
6:00pm. Please bring your favorite dish to add to the buffet.
During this event we will be presenting our HCA family Christmas gifts
provided by our membership. To add to the merriment of the season, December
16th, is the ER Christmas Party! Come on down for a wonderful Roast
Beef dinner compliments of the "Beck Bunch". There
will be raffles, prizes, activities and songs of the season for your
enjoyment!
As you go through this
wonderful month please keep in mind the joys of the season;
Mistletoe (and the
right person underneath it); The
Holiday dress that still fits; On line shopping; Finding the perfect gift for a
“picky” relative; Waking up to
snow on Christmas; Logs crackling
and gift wrap crinkling; A lighted
tree in a darkened room; Baking cookies
for Santa; Family snapshots and
the relative who gives you the prints; December
nights so clear you can see every star; Taking a nap and then wrapping presents until 2:00am; Gift givers who include
batteries; Express check out lines;
Midnight Mass in a packed
church; Being able to watch “It’s a Wonderful Life” any day in
December; Having everyone home for the holdidays; Adding
a leaf to the dining room table and finally The love of friends who are like family.

HCA - HOLIDAY POTLUCK
DINNER PARTY - December 12th
Preparation for the annual "Group Home Christmas" event is underway. This is a
wonderful event the members of the lodge have supported for the past three
years. The group home is under the umbrella of ARC/HCA.
They have limited family support and we have adopted them. Each
year they provide a wish list, which is posted in the lodge & on
page 5 of our newsletter. We then wrap the gifts and invite them to
our lodge for dinner and present them their gifts. This will allow
more members to participate in this heartwarming event of the season!
Thanks for making this event a great success. Deb and Linda our special event coordinators are looking forward to
making this a very special night for some very special people.
